Emme Perry
"Turning challenges into opportunities for change"
Hello, I’m Emme

Food Safety Advocate & Leader
Hey there! I’m Emme, and I’m currently a sophomore at the University of New England studying Biological Sciences. I’ve been dealing with six different food allergies my whole life. Instead of letting that hold me back, I decided to turn it into my superpower.
Now I’m the President of our Undergraduate Student Government and a Presidential Ambassador, basically making it my mission to ensure no student has to worry about whether their next meal might land them in the ER.
My ultimate goal? Working with the community and people like me to help them live their lives without constantly checking ingredient labels.
Through advocacy and enagment we can all make a difference!

Food Allergy Advocacy
Pioneered UNE’s partnership with Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE), helping the university achieve FARECheck Silver Status – making UNE the first and only college in Maine to reach this elite designation. My work has positioned UNE as one of only four universities nationally with recognized allergen-friendly student advocacy groups.

Student Leadership
Currently serving as President of UNE’s Undergraduate Student Government and as a Presidential Ambassador. I work directly with university leadership to champion student voices and create meaningful change on campus. My roles include Student Organization Manager, Activities Programming Board Director, and Sophomore Scholar.

New England Roots
I’m deeply connected to New England’s coastal culture. When I’m not advocating or studying, you’ll find me fly fishing, paddleboarding, or searching for sea glass along Maine’s beautiful coastline.
FARE Partnership
Successfully established UNE’s partnership with Food Allergy Research & Education, elevating the university’s national profile in food allergy accommodation
FARECheck Silver Status
Helped UNE become the first Maine college to achieve this prestigious recognition for food allergy safety excellence
National Recognition
Positioned UNE alongside academic giants like UCLA, Northwestern, and NC State as one of only four universities with recognized allergen-friendly advocacy groups
CollegeFARE Speaker
Selected to share UNE’s success story at the upcoming CollegeFARE conference, representing institutional excellence in food allergy accommodation
